Bubble Nebula Nebulae in the Milky Way

Bubble Nebula Nebulae in the Milky Way

What created this giant space bubble? It was made by a massive star that is not only bright and blue, but also emits stellar wind of ionized gas. The Bubble Nebula is now the smallest of the three bubbles surrounding the massive star BD + 602522 and is part of the giant bubble circuit S162 created with the help of other massive stars. As the gas leaves BD + 602522 so quickly it pushes and spreads the gas towards the shell. The energy light ionizes the shell causing it to shine. This photograph taken by the Hubble Space Telescope and released during the past week shows many details of the Bubble Nebula never seen before and not yet understood. The nebula is also known as NGC 7635, extends 6 light years and is visible by small telescopes to the constellation Cassiopeia.
