Neptune's interior. Drawings, interior of the planets

The inner two thirds of Neptune are composed of a mixture of molten rock, water, liquid ammonia and methane. The outer third is a mixture of hot gases composed of hydrogen, helium, water and methane. Methane gives the clouds of Neptune its characteristic blue color.

Neptune is a dynamic planet with several large, dark spots that recall Jupiter's hurricane storms. Neptune's magnetic field indicates that the planet has a solid core.
